A Land Where Natural Beauty and History Meet
✨ The Legend Behind the Name "Adat"
There is a devotional legend behind the name "Adat." The story is associated with Kururamma, the renowned devotee from the famous Kurur Mana.
One day, while preparing offerings (Naivedyam) for Lord Guruvayurappan, Kururamma noticed a young boy eating the offering. She locked the boy inside a large vessel. Later, she realized that the boy was none other than Lord Sri Krishna himself. The place where the Lord was "locked up" came to be known as "Adat," which literally means "the place where He was confined."
