🌱 Major Responsibilities of the Development Standing Committee

The Development Standing Committee is the principal committee responsible for leading the overall development of the Gram Panchayat, including the promotion of production sectors, land utilization, and infrastructure development.

📋 1. Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of annual and Five-Year Plans for the socio-economic development of the Panchayat.
  • Oversee and promote agriculture, soil conservation, animal husbandry, dairy development, small-scale industries, and fisheries.
  • Regulate land use within the Panchayat area and formulate schemes to bring fallow land under cultivation.
  • Coordinate activities related to the cooperative sector.

  • Supervise the construction and maintenance of markets, public toilets, and slaughterhouses under the Panchayat.
  • Oversee Panchayat-owned farms and seed production centres.
  • Collect, maintain, and update statistics relating to agriculture and allied sectors.
