A Panchayat is a body of elected representatives formed to manage the administrative affairs of Panchayat Raj institutions. For a Grama Panchayat (village panchayat), it is the primary committee that implements the decisions of the Grama Sabha (village assembly) and carries out day-to-day administration.The main components of a Panchayat are:President: The head of the Panchayat. They preside over meetings and supervise the overall functioning of the Panchayat.Vice President: Discharges the duties of the President in their absence.Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward of the Panchayat.Standing Committees: Formed for areas such as finance, development, welfare, health, and education to facilitate and streamline the decision-making process of the Panchayat.

Adat Grama Panchayat: Geographical Overview and Boundaries Adat Grama Panchayat is situated within the Puzhakkal Block of Thrissur Taluk in the Thrissur District. Spanning across four constituent villages—Puranattukara, Chittilappilly, Puzhakkal, and Adat—the panchayat encompasses a total area of 23.02 square kilometers. The geographical boundaries of the panchayat are defined by the Ayyanthole and Kolazhy panchayats to the east; the Tholur and Venkitangu panchayats to the west; the Ayyanthole and Arimpur panchayats to the south; and the Kaiparamba panchayat to the north. The administrative headquarters of the panchayat is located in Puranattukara.
