The Geography of Adat

Adat Grama Panchayat, spread across an area of 23.22 square kilometers, is a land blessed with natural beauty and surrounded by kole wetlands. The region is enriched by three hills — Adat Hill, Chetti Hill, and Vilangan Hill — along with valleys, plains, and small water bodies that together create a picturesque landscape.

The Panchayat is bordered by Tholur and Venkitangu Panchayats on the west, Kaiparambu Panchayat on the north, Kolazhy Panchayat on the east, and Arimpur Panchayat along with Thrissur Corporation on the south. Adat Grama Panchayat functions under the Puzhakkal Block Panchayat.

🌱 Fertile Soil and Agricultural Prosperity

According to the geographical features of the region, the elevated areas contain a mixture of laterite soil, red soil, and gravel soil. The plains and valleys are rich in fertile alluvial soil, while clay soil is found in paddy fields and sandy clay soil in kole fields.

People belonging to different communities and religions live here in harmony and unity. Since the majority of the population are farmers, agriculture forms the backbone of the Panchayat’s economy and culture.

💧 Jal Jeevan Mission – Clean Drinking Water for All

To solve the issue of drinking water scarcity, the Panchayat Committee aims to provide household drinking water connections to every family under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme.

Free drinking water connections are being provided to SC beneficiaries, ensuring access to clean water without financial burden.

🛣️ Infrastructure Development

As part of the 14th Five-Year Plan, roads and buildings requiring maintenance and renovation will be restored. By the completion of the plan, all mud roads in the Panchayat are intended to be concreted and made suitable for transportation.

The Panchayat is committed to implementing comprehensive infrastructure development projects across all sectors for the overall progress of the village.

🌾 Agriculture and Green Development

The Grama Panchayat plans to implement special projects focusing on agriculture and animal husbandry sectors.

By prioritizing green development, environmental protection, and sustainable farming, the Panchayat aims to transform Adat into a model village that grows in harmony with nature.

💡 Energy Conservation and Smart Lighting

Street lights and LED lights will be installed in all wards of the Panchayat to promote energy conservation and improve public safety.

The Panchayat’s mission is to enhance the quality of life of residents by creating a safe, bright, and people-friendly village environment.
